Clarity from the Drupal Video

Well, the Drupal video presented me with my first real experience with CMS and website building in general. I have to say that after watching the video, I'm pretty excited to get started.

Almost every term brought up in the video was new to me, but they put it in a pretty easily understandable context which makes me feel confident about picking everything up (with alot of practice of course.) Most of the video was pretty straightforward in its explanations, but the one thing that stood out to me was the idea of community on Drupal sites.

I was not aware that others would be able to become part of our site and actual contribute their own content. I found it pretty interesting that the system recognizes individual users and customizes certain parts of the site based on that user's role. I'm still not clear on exactly how this part works, but it seems like it brings a whole new dynamic to site creation and gets users involved in a learning and sharing community.

I'm also not very clear on exactly how to build content on the base Drupal site, but I'm sure that will get cleared up as I actually start using it. Overall, the video put what we will be learning into perspective and made me less apprehensive and more excited about getting started.
